Description

This alarm is reported when LOF or LOS occurs on the local or remote SFP ports.

Impact on the System

When the alarm is generated, the communication between the modules of the BTS3900E fails.

Possible Causes

The SFP port is abnormal.

Procedure

  1. Check the optical cable.

    Replace the optical cable with a new one, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm is cleared. End the alarm handling.

    N=> The alarm is not cleared. Go to 2.

  2. Replace the optical module.

    Y=> The alarm is cleared. End the alarm handling.

    N=> The alarm is not cleared. Go to 3.

  3. Connect two SFP ports to form a loopback.

    Connect two SFP ports on the main BTS3900E so that the BTS3900E forms a self-loop, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm is cleared, which indicates that the BTS3900E module which connects to the SFP port is faulty. Go to 4.

    N=> The alarm is not cleared, which indicates that the SFP port on the main BTS3900E module is faulty. Go to 4.

  4. Replace the BTS3900E module.

    Replace the BTS3900E Module, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm is cleared. End the alarm handling.

    N=> The alarm is not clear. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
