Impact on the System

When this alarm is generated, the surge protection module in the surge protection device is damaged. This lowers the surge protection capability of the BTS. The BTS, if struck by lightening again, may be damaged.

Possible Causes

The APMU detects that the DC surge protector is faulty.

Procedure

Check whether the DC surge protector is faulty.
1. Check whether the DC surge protector is faulty.
  Y => The DC surge protector is faulty. Go to step b.
  
  N => The DC surge protector is functional. Go to procedure 2.
2. Replace the DC surge protector.
3. Check whether the alarm is cleared.
  Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.
  
  N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 2.
Replace the APMU.
1. Replace the APMU.
2. Check whether the alarm is cleared.
  Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.
  
  N => The alarm is not cleared. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
