Impact on the System

The hardware of the BTS may be damaged if no immediate handling is performed in the case of fire.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The equipment room or the cabinet is on fire.
  • The related sensor is faulty.
  • The related cable or the surge protection board is faulty.
  • The DIP switch is incorrectly set.
  • The environment monitoring unit is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check the ambient temperature.
    1. View the active alarms, and check whether the ambient temperature alarm exists:

      Y => The correlated alarm exists. Go to step b.

      N => The correlated alarm does not exist. Go to procedure 2.

    2. Clear the correlated alarm according to the online help.
    3. Check whether the smoke alarm is cleared:

      Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

      N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 2.

  2. Check whether the equipment room or the cabinet is on fire.
    1. Check on site whether the equipment room or the cabinet is on fire:

      Y => The equipment room or the cabinet is on fire. Go to step b.

      N => The equipment room or the cabinet is not on fire. Go to procedure 3.

    2. Extinguish the fire immediately.
    3. Clear the alarm if the alarm is generated by the faulty EMU.
    4. Check whether the alarm is cleared:

      Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

      N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 3.

  3. Check the alarm level of the smoke alarm.
    1. Check whether the alarm level is correct (the smoke alarm should be at high level):

      Y => The level is correct. Go to procedure 4.

      N => The level is incorrect. Go to step b.

    2. Change the alarm level of the smoke alarm.
    3. Check whether the alarm is cleared:

      Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

      N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 4.

  4. Replace the smoke sensor.
    1. Replace the smoke sensor.
    2. Clear the alarm if it is generated by the faulty EMU.
    3. Check whether the alarm is cleared:

      Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

      N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 5.

  5. Replace the EMU, and then check whether the alarm is cleared:

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
