Description

The board periodically detects the board temperature. This alarm is reported when the board temperature exceeds the threshold.

Impact on the System

  • All the services carried on the board may be disrupted when the overhigh temperature alarm is generated.
  • When the high temperature alarm or overlow temperature alarm is generated on the board, the board functions may be affected and the reliability deteriorates.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The ambient temperature of the board is not within the permissible temperature range required by the related NE.
  • The fan board is faulty.
  • The board hardware is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check for the board overlow temperature alarm (alarm sub-category number 0).

    Y => The alarm is generated. Go to procedure 2.

    N => The alarm is not generated. Go to procedure 4.

  2. Check for the board overlow temperature alarm on other boards.

    Y => The alarm is generated. Go to procedure 3.

    N => The alarm is not generated. Replace the faulty board.

  3. Take proper measures to increase the ambient temperature for the board. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Replace the faulty board.

  4. Check for the fan block alarm.

    Y => The alarm is generated. Replace the fan board.

    N => The alarm is not generated. Go to procedure 5.

  5. Take proper measures to reduce the ambient temperature for the board. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Contact Huawei.
