140 BSC Unable to Read License File

Description

This alarm is generated when the BSC fails to read the license file.

Parameters

ID Name Meaning
1 Alarm Attribute

0=Normal, Alarms period are longer than the Transient Threshold.

1=Transient Count, The times and the period of the alarms whose periods are shorter than the Transient Threshold are summed up. If the sum result is longer than the Alarm Occurrence Period Threshold or Alarm Occurrence Times Threshold, an alarm so called Transient Count Alarm is triggered. Because Transient Count Alarm is based on accumulative result, the recovery of the alarm may occur at least one Summing Cycle later. The Summing Cycle can be query by MML "LST STATSLDWIN".

Impact on the System

The functions and resources of the BSC system are restricted. If the alarm persists for seven days, all the services are prohibited.

System Actions

After the alarm persists for seven days, the license control items take the default value. The functions controlled by the license are unavailable and the use of the resources is restricted.

Possible Causes

  • The license file does not exist.
  • The license file expires.
  • The license file is not activated.

Procedure

  1. Check the parent alarms.
    1. Log in to the LMT. Choose Alarm Maintenance > Browse Alarm to check whether the following parent alarm is reported.

      157 License Inferior Limit

    2. If the alarm is reported, rectify the fault according to the alarm help. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

      Y => The alarm handling is complete.

      N => Go to 2.

  2. Check whether the license file exists.

    Y => Go to 3.

    N => Go to 5.

  3. On the MML client, run the MML command LST LICENSE to check whether the license file is activated.

    Y => If the value of "Whether Current License" is "Yes" in the returned messages, go to [6].

    N => Go to 4.

  4. On the MML client, run the MML command ACT LICENSE to activate the specified license file.

    Y => If the activation is successful, go to [6].

    N => If the activation fails, Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

  5. Apply for a valid license file and activate the file.
    1. Apply for a valid license file and copy the file to "\bsc6000\Common\SWM\LICENSE" in the LMT installation directory. On the MML client, run the DLD LICENSE to download the specified license files on the FTP server to the OMU or GBAM server.
    2. On the MML client, run the MML command ACT LICENSE to activate the specified license file. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

      Y => The alarm handling is complete.

      N => Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

  6. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm handling is complete.

    N => Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
