20008 Faulty Clock Source 1 from the Rear Interface Board to the Backplane of the GSCU

Description

This alarm is reported when clock source 1 from the rear interface board to the backplane of the GSCU is faulty.

Attribute

Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type
20008 Major Fault

Parameters

ID Name Meaning
1 Subrack No.

Subrack No.

2 Slot No.

Slot No.

3 Cpu No.

CPU No.

4 Alarm Attribute

0=Normal, Alarms period are longer than the Transient Threshold.

1=Transient Count, The times and the period of the alarms whose periods are shorter than the Transient Threshold are summed up. If the sum result is longer than the Alarm Occurrence Period Threshold or Alarm Occurrence Times Threshold, an alarm so called Transient Count Alarm is triggered. Because Transient Count Alarm is based on accumulative result, the recovery of the alarm may occur at least one Summing Cycle later. The Summing Cycle can be query by MML "LST STATSLDWIN".

Impact on the System

If this alarm is reported from all the clock references being configured on the interface boards, the voice quality and the reliable transmission of the data service might be affected.

System Actions

  • If the current clock source is faulty, the clock source will be switched to other normal clock resources which are available at the time being.
  • No actions are taken for other cases.

Possible Causes

  • The clock is incorrectly configured.
  • The clock source is abnormal.
  • A hardware fault occurs.

Procedure

  1. Check whether a correlated parent alarm occurs.

Y=> Clear the parent alarm according to the corresponding handling suggestions. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    N=> Go to 2.

    Correlated parent alarm

20081 Loss of E1/T1 Signals (LOS)

The parent alarm and the child alarm must have the same Subrack No. in the alarm location information.

The LINE0 clock of the subrack reporting the alarm must be configured with the line clock, and extracted at the port in the alarm location information of the parent alarm.

The parent alarm must be generated at the active board.

20221 Loss of Clock on the Optical Port (RLOC)

The parent alarm and the child alarm must have the same Subrack No. in the alarm location information.

The LINE0 clock of the subrack reporting the alarm must be configured with the line clock, and extracted at the port in the alarm location information of the parent alarm.

The parent alarm must be generated at the active board.

20222 Loss of Signals on the Optical Port (RLOS)

The parent alarm and the child alarm must have the same Subrack No. in the alarm location information.

The LINE0 clock of the subrack reporting the alarm must be configured with the line clock, and extracted at the port in the alarm location information of the parent alarm.

The parent alarm must be generated at the active board.

20026 Faulty Phase-Locked Loop of the Board Clock

The parent alarm and the child alarm must have the same Subrack No. in the alarm location information. The PPL No. in the alarm location information of the parent alarm must be 1.

The LINE0 clock of the subrack reporting the alarm must be configured with the line clock, and extracted at the port in the alarm location information of the parent alarm.

The parent alarm must be generated at the active board.

  2. Check whether the alarm occurs to both the active and the standby GSCUs.

Y => The alarm occurs to both GSCUs. Go to 3.

N => The alarm occurs to only one GSCU. Go to 9.

  3. Check whether the clock is incorrectly configured.

Y => The clock is incorrectly configured. Go to 4.

N => The clock is correctly configured. Go to 5.

  4. Configure the clock correctly, and check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm persists. Go to 5.

  5. Check whether an alarm related to the E1/T1 or optical interface occurs to the interface board.

Y => An alarm occurs. Go to 6.

N => No alarm occurs. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

  6. Clear the alarm on the interface board according to its relevant handling suggestions, and then check whether the alarm on the GSCU is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm persists. Go to 7.

  7. Insert securely the interface board and the GSCU, and check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm persists. Go to 8.

  8. Switch over the interface boards and check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. Replace the standby interface board. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm persists. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

  9. Check whether the alarm occurs to the active GSCU.

Y => The alarm occurs to the active GSCU. Go to 10.

N => The alarm occurs to the standby GSCU. Go to 11.

  10. Switch over the GSCUs, and check whether the fault alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm persists. Go to 11.

  11. Replace the standby GSCU and wait until the board is successfully restarted. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm persists. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
