20013 Faulty GGCU 8 kHz Clock Source for the Front Panel of the GSCU

This alarm is reported when the GGCU 8 kHz clock source for the front panel of the GSCU is faulty.

0=Normal, Alarms period are longer than the Transient Threshold.

1=Transient Count, The times and the period of the alarms whose periods are shorter than the Transient Threshold are summed up. If the sum result is longer than the Alarm Occurrence Period Threshold or Alarm Occurrence Times Threshold, an alarm so called Transient Count Alarm is triggered. Because Transient Count Alarm is based on accumulative result, the recovery of the alarm may occur at least one Summing Cycle later. The Summing Cycle can be query by MML "LST STATSLDWIN".

The voice quality and data transmission are affected.

Possible Causes

  • The clock line between the GSCU and GGCU is not connected, or wrongly connected. The clock line might be loose or faulty.
  • The active GGCU is not locked to the upper-level clock source. No clock source is available in theGSCU.
  • The active GGCU is faulty.
  • The active GSCU is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the clock line between the GSCU and the GGCU is securely connected. For example, check whether the line is inserted, whether it is loose, or whether it is faulty.

    Y => The clock line is not securely connected. Go to 2.

    N => The clock line is securely connected. Go to 3.

  2. Connect the clock line securely and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 3.

  3. Replace the clock line between the GSCU and the GGCU, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 4.

  4. Check whether the alarm is generated on both the active and standby GSCUs.

    Y => The alarm is generated on both GSCUs. Go to 5.

    N => The alarm is generated on only one GSCU. Go to 6.

  5. Switch over the GGCUs and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => This alarm is cleared. The services are not affected temporarily. You are advised to replace the faulty GGCU in time. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

  6. Check whether the active board reports the alarm.

    Y => The active board reports the alarm. Go to 7.

    N => The standby board reports the alarm. Go to 8.

  7. Perform switchover between the active and standby GSCUs. Wait until the standby GSCU is successfully restarted, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 8.

  8. Replace the faulty standby GSCU and wait until the new board is successfully loaded and reset. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
