9 Alarm Attribute

0=Normal, Alarms period are longer than the Transient Threshold.

1=Transient Count, The times and the period of the alarms whose periods are shorter than the Transient Threshold are summed up. If the sum result is longer than the Alarm Occurrence Period Threshold or Alarm Occurrence Times Threshold, an alarm so called Transient Count Alarm is triggered. Because Transient Count Alarm is based on accumulative result, the recovery of the alarm may occur at least one Summing Cycle later. The Summing Cycle can be query by MML "LST STATSLDWIN".

Impact on the System

The services between the subracks that are connected by the trunk group links may be disrupted.

System Actions

Possible Causes

  • The active and standby boards at the peer end are reset.
  • The Ethernet cables connecting the GE ports of the GSCU panel are not inserted, are not securely inserted, or are faulty.
  • The peer active and standby boards are faulty.
  • The local active and standby boards are faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether a correlated parent alarm is reported.

Y => Clear the parent alarm according to the corresponding handling suggestions. Check whether the alarm is cleared .

    N => Go to 2.

    Correlated parent alarm

20123 Faulty GE Link on the Panel of GSCU board

This alarm is generated only when the 20123 Faulty GE Link on the Backplane alarm is reported from both slot 6 and slot 7.

The three alarms have the same Subrack No., and Slot No. on the peer board in the alarm location information.

  2. Check whether all the peer GSCUs that corresponds to the faulty trunk group are out of position.

Y => All the peer GSCUs are out of position. Insert all the peer GSCUs into their corresponding slots. The alarm is cleared after their normal startup. The alarm handling is complete.

N => At least one peer GSCU is in position. Go to 3.

  3. Check whether all the peer boards that correspond to the faulty trunk group are reset but are not started successfully.

Y => All the peer boards are reset. It is a normal symptom. The alarm is cleared after the boards are restarted. The alarm handling is complete.

N => At least one peer board is not reset. Go to 4.

  4. Secure all the Ethernet cables on the panel of the local and peer boards, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 5.

  5. Replace all the Ethernet cables, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 6.

  6. Replace the standby GSCU of the standby subrack and wait until the board is successfully restarted. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 7.

  7. Replace the standby GSCU of the active subrack and wait until the board is successfully restarted. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm is not cleared. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
