Description

Monitoring boards (power distribution box, fan box, and EAC) are not connected to the BSC.

If one port is faulty, the service quality between the GSCU and the service boards decreases.
If two ports are faulty, the service between the GSCU and the service boards is interrupted.

Possible Causes

The monitor board being examined is not connected to the subrack with the serial port cable.
The serial cable that connects the board and the subrack is faulty.
The board being checked is faulty.
The GSCU is faulty.
The backplane is faulty.

Procedure

Check whether a correlated parent alarm occurs.
Y=> Clear the parent alarm according to the corresponding handling suggestions. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

N=> Go to 2.

20271 Serial Port Fault

The parent alarm and the child alarm have the same Subrack No. and Slot No. in the alarm location information.
Check whether the monitor board is connected to the subrack with the serial port cable.
Y => Go to 4.

N => Go to 3.
Connect the monitor board and the subrack with the serial port, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.
Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm persists. Go to 4.
Reconnect the serial port cable that connects the monitor board and the subrack, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.
Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm persists. Go to 5.
Replace the serial port cable that connects the monitor board and the subrack, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.
Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm persists. Go to 6.
Replace the monitor equipment, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.
