7 Alarm Attribute

0=Normal, Alarms period are longer than the Transient Threshold.

1=Transient Count, The times and the period of the alarms whose periods are shorter than the Transient Threshold are summed up. If the sum result is longer than the Alarm Occurrence Period Threshold or Alarm Occurrence Times Threshold, an alarm so called Transient Count Alarm is triggered. Because Transient Count Alarm is based on accumulative result, the recovery of the alarm may occur at least one Summing Cycle later. The Summing Cycle can be query by MML "LST STATSLDWIN".

Impact on the System

The services may be disrupted.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The peer board that carries the faulty link is reset.
  • The clock signals transmitted to the service board from the GSCU are faulty.
  • The board is not securely inserted.
  • The peer board that carries the faulty link is not in position or not securely inserted.
  • The board is faulty.
  • The peer board that carries the faulty link is faulty.
  • The backplane is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether a correlated parent alarm is reported.

    Y=> Clear the parent alarm according to the handling suggestions. Check whether the alarm is cleared .

    N => Go to 2.

    Correlated parent alarm

    20016 Faulty 32 MHz Clock from the Backplane

    The parent alarm and the child alarm have the same Subrack No. and Slot No. in the alarm location information.

  2. Check whether the peer board is reset.

    Y => The peer board is reset. This indicates that the alarm is caused by the reset of the peer board. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The peer board is not reset. Go to 3.

  3. Check whether an alarm related to the clock is generated on the active GSCU.

    Y => Go to 4.

    N => Go to 5.

  4. Clear the clock alarm on the GSCU according to the handling suggestions, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 5.

  5. Secure the local board and the peer board that carries the faulty link, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 6.

  6. Replace the faulty board and wait until the new board is successfully loaded and reset. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 7.

  7. Replace the peer board that carries the faulty link and wait until the new board is successfully loaded and reset. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.
