20421 Abnormal Temperature

Description

An overtemperature alarm is reported when the fan box or independent fan box detects that the temperature exceeds the upper temperature threshold. An undertemperature alarm is reported when the temperature of the power distribution box or the environment monitor device exceeds the lower temperature threshold. In reverse, an overtemperature alarm is reported.

Attribute

Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type
20421 Major Fault

Parameters

ID Name Meaning
1 Subrack No.

The number of the subrack

2 Logical Slot No.

0=0(Powerbox Monitor),1=1(Default Fan Box Monitor),2=2(Environment Monitor),4=4(Independent Fan Box Monitor)

3 Sensor No.

The number of the sensor that resides in the board

4 Temperature State

0=Normal,1=High,2=Low

5 Alarm Attribute

0=Normal, Alarms period are longer than the Transient Threshold.

1=Transient Count, The times and the period of the alarms whose periods are shorter than the Transient Threshold are summed up. If the sum result is longer than the Alarm Occurrence Period Threshold or Alarm Occurrence Times Threshold, an alarm so called Transient Count Alarm is triggered. Because Transient Count Alarm is based on accumulative result, the recovery of the alarm may occur at least one Summing Cycle later. The Summing Cycle can be query by MML "LST STATSLDWIN".

Impact on the System

The overtemperature or the undertemperature of the cabinet has an impact on normal running of the system.

System Actions

  • If the fan box or independent fan box detects that the temperature exceeds the upper temperature threshold, the fan box runs in full speed to ensure the dissipation and safe running of the system. The LMT can detects that the rotational speed of the fan is about 4000 RPM.
  • If the power distribution box or the environment monitoring device detects that the temperature of the cabinet exceeds the upper temperature threshold (70) or exceeds the lower temperature threshold (5), a temperature alarm is reported. The system does not automatically process the alarm.

Possible Causes

  • The environment temperature exceeds or below normal value.
  • The temperature of the board exceeds or below normal value.

Procedure

  1. according to the alarm information, you can make sure that the alarm is caused by overtemperature or undertemperature.

    Y=> An overtemperature alarm is reported. Go to 2.

    N=> An undertemperature alarm is reported. Go to 3.

  2. If an overtemperature alarm is reported, you can power on the air conditioner or the ventilating fan to lower the environment temperature.

    Y =>The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N =>The alarm persists. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

  3. If an undertemperature alarm is reported, you can power on the air conditioner to increase the environment temperature.

    Y =>The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N =>The alarm persists. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
