Impact on the System

When this alarm occurs, the TTA configured for the EDU receiving channel works abnormally, and the receiving channel corresponding to the faulty channel is less sensitive than before, but the BTS can still work normally.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The power supply circuit of the EDU TTA is abnormal.
  • The TTA configured for the EDU works abnormally.
  • The feeders between the EDU antenna port and the TTA are abnormal, including jumpers, feeders, lightning arresters and so on.
  • The EDU alarm circuit is abnormal.

Procedure

  1. Check the voltage of the power supply for the TTA at the EDU antenna port.

    Remove the communication cable of the serial port on the faulty EDU in normal power-on state. Stop the power transmission of the TRX corresponding to the faulty EDU. Remove the jumper at the antenna port on the cabinet top. Measure the DC voltage between the inner conductor (positive) and the outer conductor with a multimeter at the EDU antenna port to see whether the read is within the range from +11V to +13V.

    Note:

    Stop the power transmission of the corresponding TRX before disconnecting the jumper between the EDU antenna port and the TRX input port.

    Y=> The voltage is normal. Go to Step2.

    N=> The voltage is abnormal. Go to Step3.

  2. Check jumpers and feeders

    At the one end of a jumper removed, measure the voltage between the inner conductor and the outer conductor with a multimeter to see whether they are short-circuited.

    Y=> Check the antenna feeder segment by segment.

    N=> Go to Step3.

  3. Replace the EDU

    Replace the EDU and view whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step4.

  4. Replace the TTA

    Replace the TTA and view whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.
