Impact on the System

When this alarm occurs and the sub-category No. is 0, both the communications between the BTS3001C and the upper-level BSC or BTS3001C and the services in the current BTS3001C are interrupted. If the sub-category No. is 1, the communications between the BTS3001C and the lower-level BTSs are interrupted and the services on lower-level BTSs are interrupted.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The transport link is abnormal.
  • The DIP switches of the BTS3001C is incorrectly configured.
  • The hardware in the BTS3001C is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check DIP Switches of BTS3001C

    Check whether the DIP Switches of BTS3001C is correct.

    Y=>Go to step 2.

    N=>Power down the BTS3001C and set the DIP switches correctly. Power up the BTS3001C and check whether the alarm is cleared.The alarm is cleared, Alarm handling is completed. The alarm is not cleared, Go to Step 2.

  2. Check transmission link of this BTS3001C
    1. .

      Y=>Go to Step 3.

      N=>Go to step b.

    2. Resume the transmission and check whether the alarm is cleared.

      Y=>The alarm handling ends.

      N=>The possible cause is that the hardware in the BTS3001C is faulty. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

  3. Check the transmission link at the peer end

    Check whether the transmission link at the peer end is normal.

    Y=> The transmission link at the peer end is normal. Go to step 4.

    N=>The transmission link at the peer end is unavailable. Repair the link and the alarm handling ends.

  4. Check BTS3001C lightning protection box
    1. Open the BTS3001C sunshade and take down the lightning protection box. Check the connections between the E1 lightning arresters of channel 0 and 1 and the input and output E1 lines.

      NOTE:

      When removing lightning protection boxes, keep bolts complete.

      NOTE:

      After installing the lightning protection box, restore it to its original form and spray anticorrosion paint on it.

      Y=>Go to step 5.

      N=>Go to step b.

    2. Connect E1 lines correctly, restore the transmission, and power up the BTS3001C. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

      Y=>The alarm handling ends.

      N=> The alarm has not been cleared. Go to step 5.

  5. Check the E1 lightning arrester

    Check whether the E1 lightning arrester is damaged.

    Y=>Replace the damaged lightning arresters. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

    N=>The possible cause is that the hardware in the BTS3001C is faulty. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
