Description

This alarm is triggered when the communication link between the UPS and BTS3001C fails.

Impact on the System

When this alarm occurs, the alarms related to the UPS cannot be monitored and reported.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The UPS is not installed, and the configuration of the corresponding BTS alarm parameters is incorrect.
  • The communication cable between the UPS and the BTS is faulty.
  • The communication cable between the UPS and the BTS is not in proper connection.

Procedure

  1. Reset the MMU

    Reset the MMU and view whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 2.

  2. Check whether the UPS has been installed.

    Check whether the UPS has been installed to the BTS3001C.

    Y=> Go to Step 4.

    N=> Go to Step 3.

  3. Modify the data configuration of the BSC

    Log in to the LMT, check the configuration data of the UPS, the "Clock Parameter 2" data is displayed. Modify the BSC data configuration as "UPS uninstalled". Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 4.

  4. Check the communication cable between the UPS and the BTS3001C.
    1. Check the communication cable between the UPS and the BTS3001C is in proper connection. If the cable is not in proper connection, re-connect the cable after the BTS is powered off. Power on the BTS again upon completion of the re-connection and check whether the alarm is cleared.

      Y=> The alarm handling ends.

      N=> Go to Step b.

    2. Power off the BTS Disconnect the connector of the UPS alarm cable at the BTS side. Measure the resistance between the core and the outer layer of the BTS3001C output alarm cable with a multimeter. Exchange the position of the two probes and measure the resistance again. Check whether the measurement result deviates a lot from the normal value.

      Note:

      Normally, the two measurement results should be different. One is within the range of 1.0-1.1O Ω, and the other is within 0.6-0.7O Ω.

      Y=>The inner container hardware may be faulty.Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

      N=> Go to Step 5.

  5. Check whether the UPS works normally

    Invite the UPS manufacturer to check whether the UPS works normally.

    Y=>The inner container hardware may be faulty.Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center for solutions.

    N=> Invite the UPS manufacturer to repair or replace the UPS. The alarm handling ends.
