ALM-3656 Phase-lock Loop Critical alarm

Description

A DRU carries five phase-lock loops (PLLs): two groups of transmit PLLs and receive PLLs and one test PLL. This alarm is triggered when the two groups of transmit PLLs and receive PLLs are faulty, or one group is faulty during frequency hopping setting, or the target PLL is faulty upon switchover.

Impact on the System

All the services supported by the DRU will be interrupted upon the occurrence of this alarm.

System Actions

When this alarm occurs, the system will shut off the power amplifier automatically.

Possible Causes

  • The PLL is out of lock.
  • The DRU hardware is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether there is any correlated alarm

    Check whether ALM-3598 Phase-Lock Loop alarm exists in the LMT.

    Y=>Handle the ALM-3598 Phase-Lock Loop alarm according to the corresponding handling suggestions. Check whether the alarm is cleared .The alarm is cleared, Alarm handling is completed. The alarm is not cleared, Go to Step 2.

    N=> Go to Step 2.

  2. Reset the BTS

    Perform fourth-level reset on the BTS3002C or reset it by power-down (recommended) through the LMT or local maintenance system. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 3.

  3. Remove and insert the MCU and DRU

    Power down the BTS3002C. Remove and insert the MCU and DRU in the backplane. Power up the BTS3002C and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 4.

  4. Replace the MCU and DRU and see if the alarm is cleared

    Y=>The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is completed.

    N=>The alarm is not cleared.Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
