Description

This alarm is triggered when the lightning protection module in the lightning protection box is faulty.

Impact on the System

When the alarm occurs, the lightning protection module in the lightning protection box has been damaged. The lightning protection capability of the BTS3002C has decreased. The BTS3002C might be damaged upon next lightning strike.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

The lightning protection module in the lightning protection box is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the lightning protection box has been installed

    Check whether the lightning protection box has been installed.

    Y=> Go to Step 3.

    N=> Go to Step 2.

  2. Modify the data configuration of the BSC

    Log in to the LMT online, modify the BTS attributes. You can see the parameter Alarm Shield Flag 2.

    Set Alarm Shield Flag 2 to Unequipped UPS. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    NOTE:

    This parameter is hexadecimal. It uses bit 5 in the BTS3002C.

    NOTE:

    bit5 = 0 The UPS is equipped.

    NOTE:

    bit5 = 1 The UPS is equipped and the alarm can be reported.

    Y=> The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N=> The alarm persists. The software system is abnormal.Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center

  3. Check the state of the indicators in the lightning protection box

    Open the lightning protection box. Check whether the three indicators in the maintenance cavity of the lightning protection module are green (green refers to normal and red to faulty).

    Y=> The lightning protection module is normal. Go to Step 4.

    N=> At least one indicator is red, indicating that the lightning protection module has been damaged. Power down and replace this module with a new one. Power up the new module and check whether the alarm is cleared. If yes, the alarm handling ends. If no, go to Step [4].

  4. Check whether the alarm cable connector is loose or damaged
    1. Check whether the alarm cable connector is loose or damaged.

      Remove and securely connect the cable connector or replace it with a normal one. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

      Y=> The alarm handling ends.

      N=> Go to Step b.

    2. Power down the BTS3002C. Remove the two cables connected with the lightning protection module. Set the multimeter to a proper resistance range. Measure the resistance between the two cables. Check whether there is any short circuit.

      Y=> The cable might be damaged due to lightning strike.Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center

      N=> Some hardware in the BTS3002C is faulty.Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center
