Description

This alarm is reported when BTS has rotated.

Impact on the System

For ring network I, the BTS is reset and all services of the BTS are interrupted; for ring network II, the BTS re-establishes a link, which takes a maximum of eight seconds.
After the BTS is reset, some TCHs may become unavailable because they are not assigned the anticlockwise timeslots.

System Actions

When the alarm is generated, the BTS is switched over to the reverse direction.

Possible Causes

The link on the forward ring port connecting the BTS in ring topology mode (including the upper-level BTSs) is faulty.
Manually rotate the ring network on the maintenance system.

Procedure

Check whether the switchover of the BTS ring topology is caused by manual operation.
Y => The BTS ring topology is switched over intentionally. The switchover of BTS ring topology succeeds. The alarm handling is complete;

N => Go to 2.
Check whether the forward ring port residing link of the BTS (including the upper-level BTSs) is faulty.
Y => Handle and eliminate line failure, and then manually switch over the BTS on the maintenance system (menu: BTS Maintenance > Maintain Site > Maintain Ring Network). The BTS is switched over to the forward direction;
