ALM-4704 CAN I2C Link Abnormal

Description

This alarm is reported when the CAN main control module finds that the communication between the CAN node and I2C device such as fan Board and power board is faulty.

Impact on the System

When the alarm is generated, the main control module of the BTS fails to manage the I2C device in the BBU.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The GTMU, UPEU, UEIU, or UBFA is faulty.
  • The backplane BSBC of the BBU is damaged.
  • The GTMU is in standby state.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the alarm is generated in one or all of the slots in the BBU.

  2. If the alarm is generated in one slot, unplug and plug the board on which the alarm is generated. Check whether the alarm is cleared:

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N = > The alarm is generated again. Replace the board.

  3. If the alarm is generated in all of the slot in the BBU, determine whether the site is a GSM+UMTS type or a GSM only type.
    1. If the site is of the GSM + UMTS type, unplug and plug the WMPT board.

      Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

      N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to step 4.

    2. If the site is of the GSM only type, replace the GTMU board.

      Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

      N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to step 4.

  4. Replace the BBU case. Check whether the alarm is cleared:

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
