Description

The TMU reports this alarm when its host cannot send/receive messages to/from the DPRAM mailbox.

Impact on the System

The clock module of the BTS cannot work normally upon occurrence of this alarm.

System Actions

None

Possible Causes

The clock module (including the DPRAM mailbox) is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the BTS is just powered up

    Check whether the time taken for power-up of the BTS is shorter than or equal to four minutes.

    Y=> No manual handling is required. The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 2.

  2. Power down and reset the BTS

    Power down the BTS, reset and power it up. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 3.

  3. Replace the TMU

    Replace the TMU and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.
