Description

This alarm is reported when the lightning arrester on the main rack where the DTMU is located is faulty.

System Actions

The abnormal slot alarm is reported.

Possible Causes

The lightning arrester is damaged.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the surge protection unit of the power supply has the LED.

    Y=>The surge protection unit has an LED. Go to 2.

    N=> The surge protection unit does not have any LED. Go to 3.

  2. The surge protection unit of the power supply has an LED.
    1. Check the status of the LED on the surge protection unit.

      Y=>If the LED is red, replace the surge protection unit.

      To replace the surge protection unit, power off the cabinet, remove the faulty surge protection unit, and install a new surge protection unit. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

      Y=>The alarm is cleared. End alarm handling.

      N=>The alarm is not cleared. Go to step b.

      N=>If the LED is green, go to step b.

    2. Check the alarm cable.

      Check the alarm cable between the surge protection unit and the DSAC to ensure that the alarm cable is properly connected. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

      Y=>The alarm is cleared. End alarm handling.

      N=>The alarm is not cleared. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

  3. The surge protection unit of the power supply does not have any LED.
    1. Check the alarm cable to ensure that it is properly connected. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

      Y=>The alarm is cleared. End alarm handling.

      N=>The alarm is not cleared. Go to step b.

    2. Replace the surge protection unit. To replace the surge protection unit, power off the cabinet, remove the faulty surge protection unit, and install a new surge protection unit. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared

      Y=>The alarm is cleared. End alarm handling.

      N=>The alarm is not cleared. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
