ALM-4836 E1/T1 Port Illegal Alarm

Description

The main control board has different types. Some main control boards support four E1/T1 ports and some main control boards support eight E1/T1 ports. If the main control board supports four E1/T1 ports, this alarm is reported when any other E1/T1 port types is configured on the BSC side.

Impact on the System

The extension link and extension cabinet group on the incompatible E1 port cannot work normally when this alarm is generated.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

Incompatible E1 port number is used when configuring extension links or internal cascading of the site.

Procedure

  1. Modify the settings of the extension link port or internal cascading port

    Observe whether the alarm is cleared after the modification.

    Y=> The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is complete.

    N=> The alarm is not cleared. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

  2. Replace the DTMU with the 8E1 DTMU.

    Observe whether the alarm is cleared after the replacement.

    Y=>The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is complete.

    N=> The alarm is not cleared. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
