Description

The optical module B transmits incorrect optical signals, and the performance goes down, or the services are interrupted. This alarm is reported.

Possible Causes

The optical module B of the DOMU is damaged or not installed properly.

Procedure

  1. Plug out the input optical fiber of the optical module B. Point the end to a white background and check whether there is a bright spot.

    Do not stare at the end of the optical fiber.

    Y=>Go to step 2.

    N=> Check the equipment of the peer end or the optical transmission link. Rectify the fault according to the suggestions given in 5014 "SFPA Remote Alarm".

  2. Insert the input optical fiber of the optical module B. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=>The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is completed.

    N=>The alarm is not cleared. Go to Step 3.

  3. Perform a loopback test on the input optical fiber and the output optical fiber of the optical module A. Check Weather the SFP A of the DMCM is off.

    Y=>Check the equipment at the peer end.

    N=>The alarm is not cleared. Go to Step 4.

  4. Replace the optical module B of the DMCM and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=>The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is completed.

    N=>The alarm is not cleared. Go to Step 5.

  5. Replace the DMCM and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=>The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is completed.

    N=>The alarm is not cleared. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
