This alarm is reported when BBU detects a fault in its power module.

Impact on the System

  • If the in-band transmission chip of the active MPT is faulty, the inter-board communications within the baseband subrack are interrupted and services cannot be performed normally.
  • If the in-band transmission chip of the standby MPT is faulty, the inter-board communications will not be affected but the reliability deteriorates.
  • The services on the faulty board are interrupted.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The board hardware is faulty.
  • The power modules in BBU are turned off under high ambient temperature for protection sake.

Procedure

  1. Check the ambient temperature of BBU.
    1. Carry out LST ALMAF on the maintenance terminal and check whether there is the " BBU Temperature Abnormal alarm".

      Y => There is such an alarm. Go to step b.

      N => There is no such alarm. Go to Step 2.

    2. Clear the alarm according to the handling suggestions of it.
    3. Check whether the alarm is cleared:

      Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling ends.

      N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to Step 2.

  2. Reset the BBU.

    Reset the BBU.Check whether the alarm is cleared:

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling ends.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to Step 3.

  3. Replace the BBU.

    Replace the BBU. Check whether the new board is available

    Y => The new board is available. The alarm handling ends.

    N => The new board is not available. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
