Replace the TRX

In the case of the BTS3012 or BTS3012AE:

1) Block the DTRU.

Log in to the LMT. Click the site under the BSC. Right-click a TRX, and choose Modify Administrative State on the shortcut menu. The Modify Administrative State dialog box is displayed. Select Lock in the Modified Status drop-down list. Click Apply. The DTRU is blocked.

2) Wear the ESD wrist strap properly.

3) Switch off the power of the faulty DTRU.

4) Remove the cables from the faulty DTRU.

5) Remove the faulty DTRU.

Remove the screws from the four corners of the DTRU panel. Then, hold the handle with one hand and support the DTRU with the other hand to remove the DTRU. Put the removed DTRU into an ESD packing box.

6) Install the new DTRU.

Hold the handle with one hand and support the new DTRU with the other hand to place the DTRU onto the corresponding guide rail. Then, slide the DTRU along the guide rail until it is securely connected to the subrack. Fasten the captive screws at the four corners of the DTRU panel to fix the DTRU to the subrack.

7) Install the cables on the panel of the new DTRU.

8) Switch on the power of the new DTRU.

9) Unblock the DTRU.

Log in to the LMT. Click the site under the BSC. Right-click a TRX, and choose Modify Administrative State on the shortcut menu. The Modify Administrative State dialog box is displayed. Select Unlock in the Modified Status drop-down list. Click Apply. The DTRU is unblocked.

In the case of the BTS3006C:

1) Block the DDRM.

Log in to the LMT. Click the site under the BSC. Right-click a TRX, and choose Modify Administrative State on the shortcut menu. The Modify Administrative State dialog box is displayed. Select Lock in the Modified Status drop-down list. Click Apply. The DDRM is blocked.

2) Wear the ESD wrist strap properly.

3) Remove the cables from the faulty DDRM.

4) Remove the faulty DDRM.

Remove the screws from the four corners of the DDRM panel. Then, hold the handle with one hand and support the DDRM with the other hand to remove the DDRM. Put the removed DDRM into an ESD packing box.

5) Install the new DDRM.

Hold the handle with one hand and support the new DDRM with the other hand to place the DDRM onto the corresponding guide rail. Then, slide the DDRM along the guide rail until it is securely connected to the subrack. Fasten the captive screws at the four corners of the DDRM panel to fix the DDRM to the subrack.

6) Install the cables on the panel of the new DDRM.

7) Unblock the DDRM.

Log in to the LMT. Click the site under the BSC. Right-click a TRX, and choose Modify Administrative State on the shortcut menu. The Modify Administrative State dialog box is displayed. Select Unlock in the Modified Status drop-down list. Click Apply. The DDRM is unblocked.

In the case of the BTS3036/BTS3900 series:

1) Block the RRU/RFU.

Log in to the LMT. Click the site under the BSC. Right-click a TRX, and choose Modify Administrative State on the shortcut menu. The Modify Administrative State dialog box is displayed. Select Lock in the Modified Status drop-down list. Click Apply. The RRU/RFU is blocked.

2) Set the corresponding MCB on the power supply to the RRU/RFU to OFF.

3) Remove all the cables that are connected to the RRU/RFU and take proper insulation measures.

4) Install the new RRU/RFU.

5) Connect the cables to the RRU/RFU.

6) Set the corresponding MCB on the power supply to the RRU/RFU to ON.

7) Unblock the RRU/RFU.

Log in to the LMT. Click the site under the BSC. Right-click a TRX, and choose Modify Administrative State on the shortcut menu. The Modify Administrative State dialog box is displayed. Select Unlock in the Modified Status drop-down list. Click Apply. The RRU/RFU is unblocked.
