Replacing the DPMU or PSU
Preparations:
Before replacing the DPMU or PSU, prepare the key to the front cabinet door,#2 cross screwdriver, and antistatic wrist strap.
(1) Remove the signal cables from the DPMU
Remove the communication cables and monitoring signal cables of the DPMU board.
(2) Unscrew the screws on the DPMU or PSU board
Use the flathead screwdriver to unscrew the two screws on the left and right of the the DPMU or PSU board panel.
(3) Pull out the DPMU or PSU board
Caution:
If all the PSUs are pulled out, the entire BTS is powered off. But the extraction of DPMUs will not o affect the power supply of the BTS.
(4) Set the DIP switch bit 1 and bit 2 on the back of the normal DPMU to ON (no DIP switch is needed to be set for the PSU board)
(5) Open the switch handle on the DPMU or PSU panel, slide the PSU forward along the guide rail until you can feel obvious resisting force
(6) Shut the switch handle on the DPMU or PSU panel
(7) Screw on the screws on the PSU or DPMU panel
Repeat the pervious procedures to install all the DPMUs and all the configured PSU (in the sequential order).
(8) Connect the cables on the DPMU panel
There are two cables on the DPMU board: the communication cable and monitoring signal cable.
Connect the RJ45 network cable port of the communication cable to the corresponding network port on the DPMU panel.
Connect the monitoring signal connecting cable (DB50 50 Pin signal transfer cable) to the corresponding DB50 50 Pin signal transfer port on the DPMU.
(9) Check the Replaced DPMU.
(10) The replacement is complete.
