Note:Replacing the TES board will interrupt the service of the TEU board, which is located in the same subrack with the TES.
The operation must be performed in accordance with standard antistatic procedures as the static electricity may damage the circuit board.
Wear an antistatic wrist strap and a pair of gloves; connect the grounding end of the antistatic wrist strap to the earth.
If the faulty TES is out of service, go to step 3).
The procedure for replacing a TES board is as follows:
1) Obtain the site management right.
To obtain the site management right, perform the following steps:
Step 1: Start the Site Maintenance Terminal System.
Step 2: Choose Site > Site Management Right.
The Site Management Right dialog box is displayed.
Step 3: Click Get.
The operation result is displayed in the dialog box.
The fault type of the TES can be enquired through the software on the Site Maintenance Terminal System.
2) Change the management status of the TRX that will be interrupted while replacing the TES board.
Step 1: Start the Site Maintenance Terminal System
Step 2: Choose RC > Change RC Management State.
The Change RC Management State dialog box is displayed.
Step 3: Select the TRX that related to the faulty TEU.
Step 4: Select LOCKED.
Step 5: Click OK.
The result is displayed in the right of the dialog box.
3) Remove the faulty TES board from the slot.
4) Insert the new TES board into the corresponding slot.
5) Turn on the power.
6) Change the operation and management status of the corresponding TRX.
Step 1: Start the Site Maintenance Terminal System.
Step 2: Choose RC > Change RC Management State.
The Change RC Management State dialog box is displayed.
Step 3: Select the corresponding TRX and select UNLOCKED.
Step 4: Click OK.
The result is displayed in the right of the dialog box.
7) Make sure the following items:
The TES board is tightly inserted into the slot.
The alarm of the new TES board is reported.
The software version of the new TES board is correct.
The operation status of the TES board is normal.
8) Testing
Test the BTS by performing the setup of a call.
9) Release the site management right.
Step 1: Start the Site Maintenance Terminal System
Step 2: Choose Site > Site Management Right.
The Site Management Right dialog box is displayed.
Step 3: Click Release.
The result is displayed in the dialog box.
