When the BM and TC are configured in different subracks, the GTCS can be configured on the BSC side or on the MSC side, and the related links must be configured on the A or Ater interface.

Figure 1 lists the links that should be configured when the GTCS is placed on the BSC side. The GMPS communicates with the main GTCS through the GSCU to transmit SS7 signaling, internal signaling, and OM information. Through the GSCU, the SS7 signaling is transparently transmitted to the GXPUM/GXPUT in the GMPS/GEPS for further processing.
Figure 2 lists the links that should be configured when the GTCS is placed on the MSC side. The SS7 signaling is transparently transmitted to the GEIUT/GXPUM/GXPUT in the GMPS/GEPS through the Ater interface for processing.
