Switching Over BSC Active/Standby Boards

This describes how to transfer the services carried out in the active board to the standby board when the active board fails. The ADMIN users, administrators, operators, users, and custom users with related authorities can perform this operation.

Prerequisites

Context

When faults occur in the active board, you need to switch over the active board and the standby board to transfer the services carried out in the active board to the standby board, and thus to ensure the proper running of the system.

CAUTION:
  • Be cautious when switching over a board. If the board switchover fails, the related links will be broken and the dynamic service data (not the configuration data) will be lost.
  • Because the board switchover may affect the existing services, switch over a board when the traffic volume is low, for example, early morning.
  • All the boards that work in active/standby mode can be switched over. However, the LMT does not support the initialization of the switchover on the standby board except the GOMU board. Before the switchover, ensure that the standby board is in position and working properly, and no major or critical alarm occurs.
