Resetting a BTS Board

This describes how to reset a faulty BTS board.

Prerequisites

The LMT runs normally.
The communication between the LMT and the BSC is normal.
The communication between the BSC and the BTS is normal.

Context

CAUTION:

Be careful to reset a BTS board if the standby board of the BTS board is not in position or faulty. Otherwise, the services carried by the BTS board may be disrupted.

Resetting a board may affect the existing services, so reset the board when the traffic volume is low, for example, in the early morning.

Procedure

Through GUI
1. Choose BTS Maintenance > Maintain Board > Reset Board. A dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.

2. Set Site, Subrack, and Slot, and then click Reset.
Through MML
1. Run the RST BTSBRD command on the LMT to reset the BTS boards.
