Description |
If the non-AMR full-rate speech path loss is larger than or equal to this threshold, the MS meets the conditions for non-AMR TCHF-TCHH handover. When the MS path loss is larger than the path loss threshold, the MS meets the conditions for TCHH-TCHF handover. This parameter, together with the ATCB threshold and receive quality threshold, determines the TCHH-TCHF handover. |

If this parameter is set too large, the MSs at the edge of a cell cannot meet the conditions for TCHH-TCHF handover and still stay in TCHHs, which causes unnecessary deterioration of speech quality. If this parameter is set too small, only the MSs at the center of a cell can be handed over to TCHHs and thus the network congestion cannot be alleviated. |
