Measurement Counter

A031: BSC_SGSN_PAGING_REQ_PS

Description

When an MS is called for PS service, the MSC sends the PS paging request to the MS over the Gb interface from the SGSN. This counter provides the total number of PS paging requests received by the BSC from the MSC, including the number of repeated paging requests. Refer to GSM Rec. 08.08.

This counter is measured when the BSC receives the PAGING REQUEST (PS) from the external PCU or directly from the SGSN when a built-in PCU is configured, at B1 as shown in Figure 1.
