Evaluating an Expression in the QuickWatch Dialog Box

To evaluate a variable or expression

1. In the QuickWatch dialog box, type or paste the variable or expression into the Expression text box.
2. Click Recalculate.
3. The value appears in the Current value box.
4. If you typed the name of an array or object variable in the Expression box, a tree control appears next to the name in the Current value box. Click the plus (+) or minus (–) in the Name column to expand or collapse the variable.

To save the trouble of retyping a previous expression, you can choose it from the drop-down list attached to the Expression box.

To reenter a previous expression

1. Click the down arrow at the right of the Expression box.
2. Choose the expression from the drop-down list.
3. Click Recalculate.
