The new 32-bit Data Access Objects (DAO) version 3 is faster than its 16-bit predecessor. Microsoft provides performance benchmarks showing that Jet version 3 is between 1.4 and 17.79 times faster than Jet version 2. The new 32-bit DAO supports full or partial replication of databases. This is great for writing applications for mobile users (such as salespeople) who want to access their database even when away from the corporate LAN.
