Before beginning an upgrade, it is strongly recommended that you have a valid backup. Since Windows NT provides a file backup facility and SQL Server provides dump and load capabilities, it is best to perform two types of backup: a Microsoft Windows NT backup and a Microsoft SQL Server dump.
