Site Server Default Permissions

The following table lists the default permissions for shares and directories on SMS site servers. For a description of Windows NT file and special permissions, see your Windows NT documentation.

Share	Directory	Permissions
SMS_SHRx		Administrator's local group has full control; Everyone has Read capabilities.
	SMSroot	Administrator's local group has full control; Everyone has Read capabilities.
	SITE.SRV and all subdirectories	Administrator's local group has full control.
	HELPER.SRV and all subdirectories	Administrator's local group has full control.
	LOGS	Inherits permissions from the drive where SMS is installed. Defaults to Everyone has full control.
	PRIMSITE.SRV and all subdirectories	Inherits permissions from the drive where SMS is installed.
	NETMON and all subdirectories	Inherits permissions from the drive where SMS is installed.
SMS_SHR		Administrator's local group and Everyone have full control.
	(Windows NT and LAN Manager)	Administrator's local group has full control; Everyone has Read capabilities.
	DESPOOLER.BOX INVENTRY.BOX ISVMIF.BOX PCMPKG.SRC SMSID\*.UID (file)	Administrator's local group has full control; Everyone has Change capabilities.
	platform.BIN platform.BIN\language	Administrator's local group has full control; Everyone has Read capabilities.
	MSTEST PCMINS.BOX INVENCFG.BOX APPCTL.SRC and all subdirectories	Administrator's local group has full control; Everyone has Read capabilities.
	PCMPKG.SRC\packageID CCR.BOX	Administrator's local group has full control; Everyone has Change capabilities. (Read and Write permissions for Users and Guests can be modified through the user interface. By default, Users and Guests have Read and Write permissions.)
