Communications and Connectivity Hardware for an H/PC

Windows CE provides support for a number of standard and optional communications and connectivity hardware. With the right combination of hardware and software, you can accomplish the tasks described above with ease.

All H/PCs are equipped with the following communications hardware:

• An RS-232C nine-pin serial communications port.
• An infrared (IR) port that complies with the Infrared Data Association (IrDA) specification.

H/PC manufacturers may provide other communication and connectivity hardware, such as internal modems and one-way pagers. One device that is often included is a PC Card slot.
