Creating Bound Controls

If you've used the field list to add text boxes to a form, you know how convenient it is that Microsoft Access automatically binds the controls to the fields you choose, sets properties from the field in the table, and attaches labels. It's also easy to create other bound controls, such as combo boxes or option groups, in the same way. Just select the type of control you want in the toolbox before dragging the field from the field list. Using this method, you'll be sure that the control inherits the correct property settings, and you won't usually need to edit the text in the label.

If you want to create several controls of the same type, use the tool lock in the toolbox to set the control type before dragging fields from the field list.
