Administering DHCP Clients

After you have established the scope and defined the range of available and excluded IP addresses, DHCP-enabled clients can begin using the service for automatic TCP/IP configuration.

You can use DHCP Manager to manage individual client leases, including creating and managing reservations for clients.

Tip You can use the ipconfig utility to troubleshoot the IP configuration on computers that use DHCP, as described in Appendix A, "TCP/IP Utilities Reference." You can also use ipconfig on TCP/IP-32 clients on Windows for Workgroups 3.11 computers and on computers running Microsoft Network Client version 2.0 for MS-DOS.
