IDirectInputDevice::GetCapabilities

The IDirectInputDevice::GetCapabilities method obtains the capabilities of the DirectInputDevice object.

  LPDIDEVCAPS lpDIDevCaps  
);

Parameters

lpDIDevCaps: Address of a DIDEVCAPS structure to be filled with the device capabilities. The dwSize member of this structure must be initialized before calling this method.

Return Values

If the method succeeds, the return value is DI_OK.

If the method fails, the return value may be one of the following error values:

DIERR_INVALIDPARAM

DIERR_NOTINITIALIZED

Remarks

For compatibility with DirectX 3, it is also valid to pass a DIDEVCAPS_DX3 structure with the dwSize member initialized to sizeof(DIDEVCAPS_DX3). For more information, see Designing for Previous Versions of DirectInput.
