A partial seek occurs when the length of the expression is less than the length of the key. Visual FoxPro ignores diacritical marks when performing a partial seek. If diacritics are important, consider using SCAN FOR...ENDSCAN or LOCATE FOR...CONTINUE instead of SEEK.
