The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 4.0
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 2.2, 3.0, 4.0

Summary:

In Microsoft Excel, the references for cell notes are linked to the Print Row & Column Headings option in the Page Setup dialog box (on the File menu). By default, this option is enabled, which allows the cell note references to appear when the cell notes are printed. Conversely, disabling this option omits the cell note references upon printing.
