  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 3.0, 4.0

SUMMARY

When you extract records from a remote database with the Data Access macro, if one of the conditions of the criteria contains a date value, you may receive the following error message

CL1 Error: <code number> function with arguments of type 'date' and
   'integer'

where <code number> in the message represents a code number that will vary.

MORE INFORMATION

If the criteria range is defined in cells A1:A2, where the field name is in A1 and the comparison value is in A2, you will receive the Data Access macro error message if you enter a date comparison such as:

   <1/1/92

To work around this problem, insert single or double quotation marks around the date string as in the following examples:

   <'1/1/92' or <"1/1/92"
