XCLN: Adding a Sub-folder to Outbox Causes It to Be Highlighted

SYMPTOMS

When you add a sub-folder to the Outbox folder, the folder is highlighted as if there were messages waiting to be sent. The icon also changes.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange versions 4.0 and 5.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
