Different Defaults for "SHARE=" under MS-DOS and OS/2

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft FORTRAN for MS-DOS, versions 4.1, 5.0, and 5.1
  • Microsoft FORTRAN for OS/2, versions 4.1, 5.0, and 5.1

The default value of the OPEN statement's "SHARE" argument is different under OS/2 protected mode and MS-DOS (or real mode). The default value under DOS is "COMPAT"; under OS/2 protected mode it is "DENYNONE".
