The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5x, 2.6x

SYMPTOMS

FoxPro for Windows will appear to foreground itself when playing any OLE object that is linked or embedded with a class of "MPlayer" (Media Player).

CAUSE

The Media Player expects its display window to have the focus when it is playing an object. Because the Media Player window is technically a child of the FoxPro main window (screen), FoxPro is given the focus and foregrounded.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior does not occur in Visual FoxPro.
