The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, version 2.5a

SYMPTOMS

A WAIT WINDOW command with an embedded carriage return (CR) incorrectly redisplays the WAIT WINDOW if the SHIFT or CTRL key is pressed and released. The second line disappears and the WAIT WINDOW resizes itself to display only the string on the first line.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.5a for Windows. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.5b for Windows.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. In the Command window, issue the following command:

WAIT WINDOW 'hello' + chr(13) + 'this is a test'

  2. Press and release either the SHIFT or CTRL key. The WAIT WINDOW will be resized to display only "hello".
