PRB: Word 2.0 Produces Errors When Using Mail Merge Wizard

Last reviewed: June 27, 1995
Article ID: Q113538
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, version 2.6

SYMPTOMS

After you use the Mail Merge Wizard to perform a mail merge to Microsoft Word 2.0 for Windows, a WordBasic error message appears. Several errors may appear, including:

Error 1138 - Window is too small
Error 504 - Window does not exist

CAUSE

The client document window in Word 2.0 is maximized.

RESOLUTION

To solve this problem, invoke Word, and then set the client document window so it is not maximized. When the Mail Merge Wizard invokes Word upon subsequent usage, the client document window will not be maximized in Word, and the error messages will therefore not occur.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

2. Maximize the client document window in Word. 3. Quit Word 2.0. 4. Start FoxPro version 2.6 for Windows. 5. Invoke the Catalog Manager. 6. USE a table. 7. Use the Mail Merge Wizard to send output to Word 2.0.
