  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5, 2.5a, 2.5b, 2.6, 2.6a

SYMPTOMS

An Alpha Four driver installed in the 386 enhanced section of the SYSTEM.INI is incompatible with FoxPro. FoxPro would not start even with a clean boot with this driver present.

NOTE: The Alpha Four driver is manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding its performance or reliability.

RESOLUTION

The line in the SYSTEM.INI reads as follows:

   Device=<drive letter>:<directory>/wemu387.386

Change this line to a comment to allow FoxPro to start normally.
