Terminal Displays Unreadable Characters in BBS Connection

SYMPTOMS

You may see unintelligible characters while you are connected to a bulletin board service (BBS) using the Terminal program included with Windows CE.

CAUSE

Your connection to the BBS may use an emulation type other than TTY or DEC VT-100. Terminal supports only the TTY and DEC VT-100 emulation types.

RESOLUTION

Contact the system operator (sysop) of the BBS to determine if your account can be changed to the TTY or DEC VT-100 emulation type.

MORE INFORMATION

ANSI is an example of a common terminal emulation type that Terminal does not support.
