SYMPTOMS

In Calendar, the Remind Me Before The Appointment setting may change for an instance of a recurring appointment.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you change the Remind Me Before The Appointment setting for a specific instance of a recurring appointment without changing the setting for the series, and then move the specific instance to another time without applying the change to the series. In this case, the reminder setting returns to the default for the recurring series.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, manually change the reminder setting to the appropriate value after moving the instance of the recurring series.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
